My hairs more than half way down my back. My mom wants it cut before graduation but i don't know what kind of style i should get/ the only thing i've ever done were layers. Bangs? shoulder length?

It depends on the shape of your face the length of your neck and the size of your shoulders.

If you do this, go to a salon and get a pro to do it. There are programs which can show your face with different cuts too so try that out before deciding.

My hair has been long all but three times in 46 years. I keep thinking I should shorten it because of my age but it just makes my oval face look round. Not flattering. I just do whats best for me and not what others expect of me....congrats on graduating by the way.

I agree! You should take the risk, but if you're really worried, then try cutting it like 2-3 centimeters. If you like it, keep going. If not, it'll be ok, because 2 centimeters is not very much, so you're hair will look fine.

Absolutely! Donate it while your at it. But if your clingly to your hair you're not ready so dont do it. you'll only regret it.

Layered, with some highlights will be a safe yet trendy bet. Cut it to around shoulder-length, so even if you don't really dig your new look you can tie it up in a ponytail.

Style all depends on face shape and your lifestyle. Some hairstyles require more time to fix! Before you get it cut, go into a wig boutique and try on short wigs that are the same color as your hair. Try on different styles and see what looks best. Have a friend go with you and take a picture and then if you want that style, take the photo along with you to the beauty salon.
