Hair question?

im going to my sorority formal tonite, but i have a quesiton...i am clueless about styling hair!! i just got it cut yesterday and its adorable, but its in layers w/ bangs and i need to either keep it straight or curl it w/ a curling iron, if i use the iron, do i turn (twist in my hand) the curling iron (with hair in it of course) back from my face or do i turn it towards my face? everytime i do it, the curls look like they are folding in on themselves and not like the curls i see in the magazines!! rrrgh!

The person above me is wrong. Curly hair can be VERY cute and bubbly.. if that makes sense lol. Almost EVERYONE has straight hair... its so common. If you are born with curly or wavy hair.. more power to you.

Anyways... i have also tried what you are saying and i know how to do it. But its VERY complicated and hard to explain. Honestly, if I was you, I would go with the straight look. That way, no matter what it'll still look good. You don't want to take a chance with the iron... if it doesn't turn out right, then you're pretty much screwed for the whole night. So i would go straight.

Now first blow dry your hair. Style the bangs however you want them. Then once ur hair is FULLY dry, you can begin straightening it. Straighten each strand. It might take a while... but it'll be worth it, trust me. If the bangs don't work out (like if the shape is off, or they just don't look right) then you can simply pull them back with a cute clip, OR use a headband. I'm sure you'll look fantastic!

don't use a curling iron cause it damages your hair. Put some gel on and twist it with your fingers. It works. And then put hairspray. It will only stay if your hair is naturally curly

straight hair is so much cuter than curled and if you just got it cut you dont want to curl it for at least a week or so it can burn your ends just wear it straight it will look beautiful.

i would straighten it its the safe way and it will for sure look good! if you dont kno how to curl your hair very well you may get to the formal and your curls are already starting to fall! if your hair is short then curling it may be more formal so it would work and it prob wont fall! if you curl it curl some away from your face and some twards your face. good luck! i hope your hair turns our BEAUTIFUL!
