Salon vs. chain hair cut places?

Where would be the best place to go for side bangs? Do you think that chain hair cut places (such as great clips or fantastic sams) could cut them just as well as hairstylisits that work in salons? If I took them a picture, do you think they would be able to cut that style to my likings?

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it!

Salons are better, but they're usually more expensive. I would go to Fantastic Sams or Great Clips if you're just getting a trim. If you're going for a totally new haircut, go to a salon.

For just side bangs, you should just go to a chain place. It's kind of pointless to spend more than twenty dollars just for bangs.

Bring a picture if there's a hairstyle you really have your heart set on. If you're not sure, they usually have albums of hairstyles or magazines that you can look though at the place.

well i went to cost cutters, and the people who work there just dont do work as nice as the people in the salons. i think the extra money is definitely worth it.

well i took a pic to supercuts and they did an awesome job.

if you are really afraid tit might go wrong or if its a style thats difficult-take it to a salon.

If you're like me, a bad haircut is a horrible thing.

Don't mess around. Remember how bad you felt the last time you got a bad haircut and had to wait for it to grow out?

Not everyone at a salon is a great haircutter but they do have more experience. The franchises teach their cutters a specific number of cuts and formulas and they don't usually think outside the box. Good luck. Bring your photo to a decent salon and you'll most likely get what you're looking for.

SALON!!!

It depends on the hair dresser really, you can go to any salon and have your hair ruined no matter how much you pay, I'd get some suggestions from friends that have the same type of hair as you and compare, word of mouth is usually the best way to find a good hair dresser.

yeah...it should be the same...i personally like getting my hair done by a gay guy because they just do so much of a better job....

I think you get what you pay for in most cases, but if side

bangs are all you want, I would not pay for an entire haircut at a salon for something that simple.

The truth is, there are good and bad hairdressers in all types of salons. My suggestion to you would be to find someone who has bangs or a haircut similar to the way you want yours and ask where they had it cut. Ask this persons name and tell the hairdresser you admired the work he/she did on this individual and that you want the same look. A photo is the next best thing as it helps the hairdresser to visualize what otherwise you would only be verbalizing that you want. Just keep in mind that oftentimes the person in the picture has a very different texture, curl pattern, and face shape from yours. I might add it's always a good idea to give a hairdresser more than just one try at what you're looking for. This gives them the opportunity to get to know your hair....and you. A good hairdresser will take into consideration your look, lifestyle, and amount of time you are willing to devote to your hair.
