I need a new men's hair style:?

OK so I'm a rock musician my whole life. I've had long hair, I've tried short hair, etc etc. Now I'm 33 and slightly balding (not too bad yet but its there), and most hairstylists recommend a short hair style, so that the balding isn't as obvious. The problem is: I'm a rock musician, I like long shaggy wild out-of-control but with-style hair. So what does one do?

1) Get short hair cut, dye it blue and/or shave symbols into it

2) Grow it really long, so you can't see the bald spot in back, but the receding hair line in front is still noticeable.

3) Grow it medium length, layer it, use lots of product, and have sort of a mad-scientist-meets-rocker look

4) shave it bald, and maybe grow the goatee back

Additional info: I am dirty-dishwater blonde, and have a young face, more the cute-cherubic kinda face than the angular-handsome face.

A hair style that I like for guys is the "faux hawk".

Leave the sides short like half a inch, and the top a bit longer (1.5 inches)so you can spike it up the middle like a mohawk, but its more wearable because the sides aren't shaved.

Thats a tough one. I have a friend that is a rock musician and he hasnt had a haircut in 12 years. He loves his long hair, always has and always will. So if you've always had long hair, I understand how hard it would probably be for you to part with that so my suggestion is keep it long, dont get it cut. Let it grow long enough to cover your bald spot and I dont think the receding hairline in front will matter. When you have that much hair, people are gonna comment and the hair you do have, not the small spot in front where there isnt any. KEEP ON ROCKIN!!!

try something to thicken your hair -- nioxin products, flax oil (omegas 3 and 6 are good for hair thickening) something like that. hair products can often be the reason you are thinning. check for alcohols and waxes in your shampoos, conditioners, gels, etc. if your scalp isn't healthy and happy you don't get healthy happy hair. when you are younger your cells rejuvinate a lot faster -- by 35 they don't so much anymore so you have to help them out.

idk, that short of hair, you cant do much, try getting it french braided, since its short, it will probably stop at the base of ur neck, that might look cute.

idk ur hair is pretty short so there's not as much stuff to do with it...hm... well i think the headband will look very cute with your hair.

why don't you try scrunching your hair or waving it with a curling iron? would a french braid work? or just a high ponytail can look extremely playful, boyish, and beautiful.

there is this guy i like, he's so cute and has a great personality. just yesterday he got a hair cut and i don't like it, the style doesn't work for him at all. i want to tell him that i don't like it, but i really don't wanna hurt his feelings and possible ruin any possible future between us. how can i tell him nicely that it looks horrible?

Don't worry. Hair is something we can change because it grows back.

If you really like him, don't risk him liking you in return by saying negative things about him. You should like him for more than his hair ... and just remember that it can be fixed. Maybe if you two start to date or something you could make a comment about a new hair do. Right now, however, by pointing it out you will be giving him the wrong impression. You'll be saying that you don't find him attractive anymore and he won't think you like him.

There is no way to tell someone nicely that they look "horrible" so get to know his personality better. If you really find him that repulsive then you shouldn't date him ...

Smoothing Syrum (I recommend CHI). It is definitely worth the buy for frizzy hair. I swear by mine.

I also recommend styling it with a diffuser I also find it helps.

Use tons of "Suave just for men gel" its cheap and works! My hair was sooooo unbelievabley frizzy then i tryed that and now I have nice defined curls! TRY it its a life saver! :)

Leave-in conditioner! You don't even have to buy a special leave-in brand, I use a drugstore moisturizing conditioner and just don't rinse it out. Gel your hair while it's still pretty wet, and scrunch it dry with a soft old T-shirt, not a towel - assuming you've got curly hair, if it's straight I guess you wouldn't scrunch. Don't blow dry it!

hair first, thats my specalty. lol! ok, so wen u 1st get outta the shower, put ur hair up into spice girl buns on the top of ur head, but not perfect ones. just scrunch ur hair up into them, and add tons of hairspray and moose, or sum type of gel. add gel occasionally, until ur hair is completley dry. then take all the buns out, and put more gel on ur hands and start scrunching up ur hair w/ur fingers. it'll look like this super-sexy version of a type of crimp.

with your height i would say, wear burmutta shorts, and longer-ish shirts w/popular logos like volcom and other things that seem 2 b popular @ ur school. if u wear skirts, dont wear the really short 1s, or evry1 will assume rite away that ur a slut. u DEFINTIELY dont want that.

as to the hair issue, i think that keeping ur hair blonde is a gr8 idea, instead of dying it brown. go for something more strawberry blonde. wear lighter tones of make up if u wear any @ all, and wear earrings that arent huge hoops, which are another dead give away of a slut. most of all, the most helpful fashion tip i can give u, is B URSELF! if ppl cant luv u 4 u, they're not worth it sweetie! just remember that, b confident in urself, and ppl will luv u. also, im a converse fan, so wear either those or sk8er shoes. etnies r wuts in rite now. I suggest that you straighten your hair with side swept bangs... it looks really good (that's the kind that I have). If you're not super skinny, then I suggest that you don't wear any skinny jeans (although they look really cute with tunic type things)... I think you should wear low cut off jeans and really cute shirts. Anything that is pretty tight and layered. No big shirts if you don't want to look tomboyish. You don't need to worry about high school... just keep up the fashion trend that you have now, and you'll be fine

Well... i wouldn't dye your hair because then you would have to dye it over and over to keep it looking natural.... maybe some brown highlights..... and for clothes.... bermuda's and Polo's are really in style.... plaid Bermuda's with solid color t-shirt... and your hair would look great layered and a little longer than shoulder length!

You should go 5 shades lighter and then straighten your hair out with a cut of about 10cm. This will high light your eyes. Have your eye brows shaded lighter or high lighted too the same colour of your new hair colour. Use a lighter shade base on your eyes and darken the cheekes. Personally i think his wrestling character (white rapper, soldier, tough guy) sucks. He may look ok (crappy marine style hair-cut though). He walks like a gorilla with a pole up its behind with his arms at each side. He's got no entertaining personality or charisma. He's rhyming rapping jokes are ridiculous. His wrestling style is pretty boring too. A lot of punching and kicking. I got turned off wrestling and disgusted by how they killed any respect to wrestlers that have gone through hard times to get where they are by immediately giving him a push by winning nearly every single match and having him always as champion beating all the top names. Still this ridiculously massive push has not helped him to be any more enjoyable to watch. The only reason i have heard why some fans like him are ones that are female and say he is hot. Please dont answer this question if your going to say he is hot. Wrestling style answers only.

Because he's a solid, entertaining wrestler. While he can be embarrassing on the mic, he's more charismatic than most of the wrestlers in the company, that's for sure. Plus, he's had some great matches so far, ones against Umaga, HBK, Edge, Triple H, Randy Orton, heck, he even helped Khali to a match that didn't make the world implode, something only Undertaker %26amp; Finlay, both tremendous wrestlers, have been able to do.

He wrestles a brawling style, that's why it's punches and kicks. If you hate Cena for that, then you should hate the Rock %26amp; Austin %26amp; Foley too, because they employed the same style. Besides, movesets don't mean a thing, if you're a good wrestler, then you can work with a thousand holds or a couple of strikes and slams, and Cena has done so.

And Cena's big push is all due to the writers, many of whom panicked over the less of the biggest wrestlers and pushed all of their young guys straight to the top instead of letting them take the ropes in the midcard, and plus if new wrestlers don't work, they simply drop them instead of letting them ride the wave.That's why people like Cena, Orton and the younger guys seem so awful yet pushed to the top when compared to the Attitude Era guys, because they were never fully developed for a top spot and now the WWE decides who the next top star will be instead of the fans. So now we're stuck with Cena enternally at the main event because he sells, and the WWE have no other new top face to back him up.

I have very thick brownish hair, and I attempt to give myself a textured, messy, matte. look with regular hair gel. Hair gel doesnt really give me a messy textured look at all. It just makes my hair greasy, hard, shiney, and gross. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good matte products, that gives a natural look, and that also gives me that textured messy look. Also, should I ask my hair stylist to cut my hair a certain way to achieve this look?? Right now my hair is all one length. Should I get a more choppy cut for this style I'm going after????

To get the control of gel without the hardness, use pommade-but only a little or your hair will look greasy. Put a littl eon your finger tips and run through your hair and mess it up. It is great stuff and you can get it at the drugstore.

The best product I have found for this is by Joico it is called Con-text Pliable Paste. It really rocks and gives you a great texture but no shine, is a matte finish and stays maleable. Also ask your stylist if she can texture the ends of your hair...a razor would do this best but she can point cut into it or just use some texturizing scissors to lighten up the ends and give you a more choppy look.

Side swept bangs look great on anyone. You must not have much time being a mother and all, so the side swept look with be perfect. it is extremely versatile and makes you look like you spent a lot of time on your hair even if you didn't. And the look great with your hair up in a ponytail. They look even better with your hair down.

It would also help to cut your hair short, about shoulder-length. Consider getter soft layers and tapering it in the front. The taper will help your side swept bangs transition into the rest of your hair!

i hav dark brown CURLY hair that goes down at least to my shoulders. since its so curly, i cant brush it or else it puffes out 8 inches in every which way(i am not kidding) i cant streighten it every day cuz it takes lik an hour especially with all the tangles. im thinking about getting a different hair style, but i dont want to really cut my hair that much shorter. does anyone know some cute hair styles for curly hair?

I think your problem isn't that you need a different cut. I think you need some help styling. I also have curly hair and I am a licensed cosmetologist. I have had my hair every length and every cut and the longer it is, the better the curls look. First things first, you should never brush your hair when it's dry. You need to get out of the shower and either use a pick or a wide tooth comb to get the tangles out. Then, put mousse in your hair and scrunch it up a little bit. You can use a diffuser or you can let it air dry. A diffuser just gives you neater curls. Good luck!

Then diffuse it. The hairspray will help your curls remain intact. Do Not Brush your hair after this, it will only lead to frizzies.

Ok i have really thick hair so think infact that i have yet to find a clip large enough to hold it up and when i fix it my main options are wearing completely straight OR mousing it down while wet and letting it kink. When i do try to style it on side fixes really pretty and the other one will fall straight IMMEDIATELY. What can i do to style it?

Oh and im getting married soon so some formal ideas would work too....its kinda cut in layers with the back kinda long and the front and sides are like to my chin and it gradually gets longer as it got to the back of my head.

Okay well you can go to the hair dresser and ask them to thin out your hair, and when they do that they make layers to fine out your hair. Try that, also just putting moose in your hair, and scrunching it, making it curly would look okay too.. :)

and for formal ideas, after the "thinning out" ty putting your hair in a half bun, all in curls. then some curls falling down.

I have extremely thick hair, which is naturally curly. I currently have bangs but the faster they grow the better. (They're at the bottoms of my ears now). But anyway, I usually just get it cut one length and with no real style. But you see, I'm starting high school and want to have a stylish hair-do. Too many layers and I'll look like I have an afro and thinning it makes it worse. So anybody have any ideas or links or pictures or anything? I would really appreciate it. My hair is brown (I've never dyed it) and is about an inch and a half below my shoulders when straightened and about half an inch below my shoulders when curly.

Well I have the same exact hair your talking about lol. I normally straighten it in the winter %26amp; scrunch it in the summer/spring. ( scrunch is when you use gel %26amp; or moose ) Just saying. But i think you shouldn't have it really long and your length it pretty good. Just keep doing what your doing. But my advice, get the bangs off. A lot of people don't have them anymore and it's just a pain in the neck. Good luck !

If your highlights are faded, you might want to get them touched up so they show.

Long hair looks best with layers; my hair is almost to my waist and I like a lot of layers that blend together. I have had a few bad cuts where it looks like shelves of hair at the back, so be specific with your stylist. I also make sure I am clear about the length; I like my hair long b/c hair shorter than my shoulders gives me triangle head. I have had stylists who didn't believe this and cut too short. So be very clear with them!

But if you are experimental and don't care about length, go for broke and get something fun!

-Divide your hair into thin sections ans spray each section with curl activator like TREsemme curl activator.

-Separate the curls with your fingers and spray them with a good holding spray to keep them in place and control them form becoming poofy.

I have very thick hair that tends to get fairly frizzy and puffy at times, not too bad though. When it gets longer it gets worse though and does not even move in the windiest wind. Its fairly straight but my bangs curl up when they get just a little long. your description of you hair is pretty general but i'm assuming your hair is thick. frizzy and puffy is usually caused by they way you sleep or how your hair is dried.

your bangs curl when they're long as most hair do, or you're sub consciously getting it out of your face. you'd probably be able to get that hairstyle and yes, it'll fit an 18 year old.

what products should you use? i'm not really sure what you want to use whatever product for, but shampoo and all should be the same.

you need to get your hair layered slightly. if you hair is curling out in the front, you'd have to straighten it. try not to straighten your ahir too often, it might cause split ends and other undesirable stuff. you can use colour show liss cream(url's down there)

which helps straighten hair a little, but not to a large extent. it DOES fight frizz well. at least for my hair. it's thick too. VS sasoon's straightener is very reliable, though a little costly. straighteners are more or less the same. it's up to your personal preference really.. model, design (if it matters), brand.. but for the record, sasoon's work perfectly fine.

your bangs probably won't really straighten out a whole lot until they're about as long as your chin or something, usually because it isn't 'heavy' enough to hold itself down. but i don't think you want em to grow THAT long right?

the thing with straighteners. sometimes if there's too much heat, you damage your hair and they may get a little crumpled. really. (you might not want to try that) and if it's over done, you may look like you've just rebonded your hair, and come off as unnatural. one way to straighten your bangs a little is to blow dry it. stick out 2 fingers, and as if you're cutting them with your fingers, hold it down from the root to the tip with the hair dryer following the downward motion.

(almost as if your fingers are the straighteners)

It really depends on your face.. do you have a long face, short face, skinny face, chubby face? If you have a long or chubby face, short hair wouldn't look good. If you have a big forehead then side bangs make it look smaller. It all just depends on your looks. Short hair could look good on someone that doesn't have a chubby face, and look like crap on someone that does.. get it? I would take some pics that you like to a professional and get their opinion, they would know more about it.

For your hair and specific length, I think you should think about what would look best with your face shape and specific tone and structure. For a a rounder, more eliptical shaped face, I suggest the Vanessa Hudgens style. For a longer, more rectangular face, I suggest side-bangs and layers. Just look into your face structure and ask around at local salons - you should find a syle that suits you, and if not, just stick to those long brunette locks. :)

i have always had long brown hair with natural red highlights that is about that length (mid-back) and a week ago i had it cut to shoulder length. now don't get me wrong, i'm in love with long hair, and so is my boyfriend, but my short hair is great. i opted for right above the shoulders with side-swept bangs and layers, and while i never thought i could pull it off, it looks phenomenal. and my boyfriend was in shock, in a good way. before i did it, i googled short hair styles 2007, and found some good pictures, but i trust my stylist. just go somewhere you like, and tell them what you want, and chances are you'll end up with a personalized style that fits you much better than a magazine cutout copycat. good luck!

Try a sleek chin-length style one if you got for that though, sometimes bobs sitting on your shoulder can drag your face down a bit. I'm 14 but I have side bangs already, they part in the middle of my face and they fall on a sort of angle to the left, and i have some excess bangs that part to the right. But I want the scene side swept bangs where it drops down to your forehead and and falls to a side. you get the idea. Ok a short jagged cut that's a bit longer in the front will help to frame your face, especially since you have prominent features.

Bangs would look nice on you if they're longer and side swept. Also, I would darken your base just a tad. Go for a Chocolate Brown, which will definitely make your eyes pop. If you wanted something totally different you, could even do Blond. Like a Sandy Brownish Blond.

You have really pretty hair already! I wish mine was like that! Um, I heard that if you have wavy/curly hair that, instead of regular layers, you should get the top %26amp; sides angle layered. That supposedly helps enhance waves %26amp; give the hair more of a shape.

On anyone, really, I think curls are really pretty. But, believe it or not, it depends on the color. If you have brown hair, I would suggest one length, to the shoulders, and maybe a slight angle in the front. (That is what you could turn the bangs into.)

If you have red or blonde hair, it may be good to go real short, maybe even chin length.

Try getting bangs, like straight across bangs. It changes your look, and it's easy to manage with fine hair(as in you won't have to worry about frizz and flat ironing them). Don't pay all of your attention to layers, they can only do so much, and leaving length looks great with bangs.hope this helped.

I have long curly red hair and it's been cut in layers. My problem is, that it is so long that the weight pulls all the curl out so it's more wavy than curly. It is also flat and straight down to my ears.

I love my curls and want to work with what I have. I've spent years straightening and trying to make it do things that it just won't do.

I am looking for a cut that will give me volume on top as well as bring the curl back.

I don't like to spend a lot of time on my hair. I usually put a styling product in and scrunch.

now to answer your question, i recomend you get more layers, starting higher up your head, about chin length. some hair dressers may call those shorter ones angles. next, i'll say that the top part of your hair may need more help than just a cut, you may need to put a root-lifting product in it, they aren't hard to find, just walk down your hair care aisle and look for a root-lifting spray, that's how they come. finally, i'll tell you that to keep your curls from being wighed down, the two major things you need to do are condition with one that says it won't weigh your curls down, like loreal vive, and you need to trim your hair more often than others to keep the curl forming through the end.

I have the same problem when I grow my hair out...its the worst. The cut that works best for me is a shoulder length cut...slightly layered and its angled in the front (to give it a little style). It doesn't change how I style my hair either (just some styling product and my frizz-ease hair spray). If you want to keep your hair long you might want to try scrunching your hair while your head is flipped upside down that way it may not lay so flat on the top. You can try everything, but nothing is gonna make it grow "faster"- its gonna grow at the same rate it always has.

I have pin straight hair too- your not alone. If i wanna curl or have my hair wavy, I take a shower before i go to bed and put my hair in a tight bun. because your hair is short, you might have to make 2 buns and put them down low...but make them as high as possible. (comb your hair before you do this)

In the morning they will prob still be a little damp- DO NOT BRUSH you hair. it'll make it look really frizzy. put some anti-frizz (i recommend john freeda) and then some curling styling gel and then a little hairspray.

I have curly hair and my face is not that round and my hair stylish always cut it with layered style but not too much short just below my neck and i used hair straightening and Frizz Eliminating shiner .Be sure the layered is not that high. Straight cut doesn't work for me bec. of the shape of the face it will make you more round.Good luck.

If she tells you that your hair will look ad when curly, and you really don't mind, tell her to do it anyway. You straighten your hair pretty often so it won't be too big a deal. But, if you DO care how it looks when curly, don't do short layers, because it's super hard to control and you tend to have alot of random curls sticking out.

Also, tell her to thin it out towards the ends.

you will have to put product in it to make it bigger though. I suggest the big sexy hair spray.

If i were you, I would have it slightly trimmed, and add some colored highlights. Maybe a blue, or red, or some sort of "neon" green...I like those colors so thats what i would do, but if you dont feel like doing anything like color, then just a trim will do just fine...

I have light blonde hair cut into a bob. I hate it. I want something new and exciting for my hair to give me a boost. I want a cute style and I want to dye it red. get peices of short hair and use hair slides to pin them back untill all your hair is back and then put a big clip at the back t ocover the ends. its complicated but ends up nice!! or use one of those big clips - get you hair and twist it, then clip.

When I was having a particulary bad hair day, I would put on some heat protection spray and straighten my hair, works all the time. Then put like a cute hair band or something in it. Im not sure if its really gonna change but alot of people at going for the very flat look at the front (long fringe) and then using tons of hairstray on the back to make it into huge spikes

it looks really cool on boys but I've seen a few girls do it but hey be different

I have thick hair and I get a lot of compliments how thick and healthy it is but for about 20 years I have had the 80s layered look and it almost looks like a mullet before I moved I cut it myself (which was dumb I know I was trying to save money) then I had a stylist shape it before I relocated.

Now I want to grow it all out one length so it will look updated in style and professional when I go back into the work force.

What are ways to style my hair while it is growing out what is a godd shampoo conditoner and gel to use that does not cost a lot of money. I can blow dry it back but it is still a little too short to pin the layers back without looking silly or goofy.

Any suggestions?

as u'v heard the link doesnt work but if they diddnt use a curling wand they probably used a round brush and a blowdryer. one way off getting a bit of wave in your hair is o use a product such as garnier surf spray, just spray in hair and scrunch

I would like to see some color like blonde highlights. You should get something dramatic! I think rhianna's hair cut and lightening up your hair would definately bring out your face. Go to Mac to get a Light powder for your face. You should look into more lavender/pink for your eyes. Use brown eye liner. I would also think clear lipgloss would top off for a very clean/natural/pretty look. Oh yea, you are going to need a nice mascara too! If you are going all the eye...contacts would help too!

Honey a lot of people find a picture and want their hair to look that way and get it cut but it doesn't turn out the same way. That is because maybe your hair doesn't have the same texture as the girl in the picture and sometimes the cut doesn't look good because of the face shape. I suggest you go to a salon that does the computer analysis and see what style looks good for your face shape and also what colors. It is fun I did it and was glad because my hair is fine and limp and the style I wanted would never have worked on my hair. If you have it cut already it can still help you because I have found no matter how much of a mess my hair is in it will eventually grow out and I can get a different style. I say keep the sweeping bangs, but add some highlites carmel or red would be nice. Then have the front cut to angle into the bangs. Have the stylist use over direction towards the front to cut the angle so as not to remove too much length. Then cut some 6" layers on top and drag everything up to blend. This will give you a little volume, a lot of versatility and will look awesome with your characteristics.

i would try talking to them again. tell them it's not like you're asking to go to a friend's house party or for 80 dollar jeans. I have 3 daughters who are little still (8,6,and 5) and when they get to be your age-if they want to cut their hair-as long as it's not something crazy and they don't want to dye it like bright pink-i'll let them do it.

it's good for your self esteem to try something new. do you fix it every morning or does your mom do it for you? if you do-then i don't see what the big deal is.

do you have relatives or an older friend (or friend's mom) that can take you to the salon to have it done? as a mom, i don't usually encourage going against your parents but i think they are being silly on this one.

I have straight brown hair, 3 inches past my shoulders. I am thinking I want it up, but I like those styled where it looks almost sort of messy, yet put together. I would like it curly, yet my hair is sooo fine, it is hard to get it to hold curls.

Congratulations!!! I posted a similar question a few weeks ago and got great responses!!!! I am 24. Our dresses sound very similar. I am doing a half up half down style with a veil and a tierra with curls on the top and the back straight. if you want a updo and have thin hair you can get clip on extensions for the top..you can get a half wig, or you can do something like add a ponytail onto your real hair. Im sure regardless you will look beautiful! Good Luck!

Start looking now in magazines for styles you like. My daughter wanted her hair done a very specific way for her wedding. I'm so glad that she had a trial, because after 3 tries (took 2 hours) the stylist still couldn't get it the way she wanted it (didn't help that my daughter picked 07-07-07 as the day to do her trial, the stylist had been on her feet since 6:00AM that morning and was the last appointment of the day). When she went back on the wedding day, the stylist had done a hair model's hair the way she thought that my daughter would like it and it was exactly right. My daughter looked gorgeous and the stylist was happy, too, finally having done my daughters hair the way she wanted to wear it.

Ive got really annoying hair (but only because i can fnd a style to suit me and one i like)...I remember when i was younger having my hair cut very short and it looked awful, from then, I grew my hair until i was fed up and had it cut very short (similar to my avatar length) - It stayed short for about 3 years and i've now let it grow again - Thinking that I might actually look nice with long hair (plus my husband prefers it).

I had it cut into a bob and the length stops just below my hairline (neck) so still short but i hate it - i makes me look fat in my opinion (maybe this is telling me its not framing my face properly).

Im just really fustrated as im not aginst trying new things but considering how long hair takes to grow (even when you are pregnant lol) i would really appreciate any tips, past experiences or links that might help me decide what is right for me as i have never quite found the right thing for me as i think its high time i did!

It looks good short but I hate short hair. I love wearing ball caps and I look like a boy if my hair is short. I love long hair but my hair never seems to do what I want it to do when it's longer.

The only time I liked it was when I had it permed, but one of my best friends told me to get out of the 80's and so I straightened it and it's been straight ever since...but I was comfortable in the 80's, the 80's were good to me and so I think I might just have to slip back once again...either that or shave my head! lol

i used to have EXACTLY the same problem and it used to bug the hell out of me!!! i had it long, got it cut short, hated it cos it made my face look fat, grew it got it cut again etc etc vicious circle!

so i got it cut just above my shoulders and had it layered and thinned out alot at the bottom. i also had a side parting and a side fringe and all i do is straighten it for about 5 minutes a day and leave it and it looks great!

Search online, talk to your hairstylist, it depends on how far you are willing to go and always, once you find someone with a great knack for knowing you and your hair, always go back. Trims are a must, if you let your hair get too damaged it won't grow. Trims every 4-6 weeks. the type of brush you use could also be holding you back, talk to someone at Sally's that can tell you what each brush is for. Get a few hairstyle books, they have great tips on what new styles are out and what products do what. If you just want something quick, try to figure out if your face is heart, oval, squared, round, or triangular. then look at the faces in the hairstyle books set out, find one of the models with your face shape, this will give you something to go by. If you like your hair long, but don't like the weight, try getting your stylist to thin it out a bit without taking the volume away. Trust me it works! Use what god gave you and talk to whoever is doing your hair. Oh one more thing, if you ever hear scissors that scrape instead of snip your hair, get out of the chair! They have no idea what they are doing! Sharp scissors are a must to every hairstylist!

I wear mine very short. It is almost like a regulation military style, but it is a bit longer in the front. When I wash my hair I comb it all the way back and then push the top into a front wave and take about 1/2 of an inch and make a side bang.

Korean/Japanese/ Chinese hair is very strong and requires real precision cutting. Hairstylists who mainly work with Caucasian hair find Asian hair a challenge, so unless you want to take a risk, i'd stick to what you know when it comes to hair.

I ask this because I'm wondering if black and pink will look better, or if blonde and pink will look better? I know, I don't have to bleach it to make it blonde ( trust me, you don't have to bleach your hair to make it blonde, it just looks nicer if you bleach it first ) I know I want my bangs pink, and I might have to get that part bleached, but this is difficult, and my mother and sister are no help at all.

Plus, will the hairdresser ( or whatever** ) laugh at me if I ask them to dye it pink? I fear being mocked.

They both would look good, but the black pink combo would have easier maintenance. With a blond pink combo sometimes the pink will "bleed" onto the blonde, giving a all over pink, it happens during regular shampooing the pink will stain the blonde around it and is sometimes unavoidable with that color combo.

I wouldn't worry about being mocked, I personally love when a client comes in with a fun idea for their hair, it allows me to stretch my creative wings, and I think most stylists feel the same way.

The first one sounds like it would be very stylish and and fun, but the second one sounds a bit more versatile and has many more styling options. If you cant get it, my advice is, if you have a small face short hair would look good on you. but if you have a big nose and a big face, short hair would make your head look bigger. if your hair is curly short hair isnt very comfortable. I have tried them all. at the end women need long hair. it changes the whole look. trust me

number one sounds a little cuter than number two, but I used to have really long hair too, to change mine I got it cut about an inch below my chin (about shoulder length) and had it layered, to touch it up, I had the layer tapered from my chin down, it turned out very cute and way different than what I was used to.

I would take advice from the stylist cutting your hair, consultations are usually free, so take advantage of that. Don't listen to anyone that says girls should have long hair, that's such a cave-man attitude, if you want it shorter then go for it, it's easier to take care of. I just had mine cut pixie short, and although I am having problems styling it right now, I still love the basic cut, and it looks way cuter than my straggled waves that I had before.

without seeing a picture of you its hard to recommend a hair cut because some faces just dont look good with some hair cuts..

if you like it long then keep it long..just go into a salon and say you want LONG layers and like point to where you want the shortest and if you were keeping it long..dont let the shortest layer be more then a few inches shorter in the back..i think it looks mullet like if someone has way to short of layers

you can do all sorts of highlighting..maybe a tint of red...or copper...gold..i like it better if someone doesnt change the color too much

eww...you need to grow your hair out to lessen the weight and ask ur stylist to thin your hair out. When your hair grows, use paul mitchell shampoo and conditioner. you must straigten.

well okay you could scrunch it to make it more curly. after it air dries you could leave it like that or use a curling iron and take random pieces and curl them not like a ton but enough. or when it's curly just randomly like put your hair back in a little pouf for your bangs however big you're comfortable with. then just start pinning your hair back to like your crown you could tease it in that area to give it some height but just make it look like a messy upso. test before your plan to wear it. or pin it to pne side let it hang ove shoulder kinda drapy leavinga few pieces hanging randomly.

I get a good cut at regis or tony %26amp; guy (they never screw up my hair and you know how people can do that if they don't know what they're doing if you have thick wavy hair). I like to scrunch mine %26amp; let it dry naturally. I use mousse and a little bit of styling wax to keep it from being frizzy. Sometimes I'll blowdry with a diffuser.
